1. The largest cell in the human body is the female egg, which is about 100 millionths of a meter. The smallest is the male sperm, which is 50 micrometers. Just imagine! The tiniest thing a human eye can see is 0.1mm. So a microscope definitely needed for that! 2. There are 640 muscles in the human body. It takes 17 of them to smile and 46 to frown. So when people are upset, just know it takes them more effort to be upset than happy. 3. The largest human organ is the skin! Though many people don’t think the skin is an organ, it most definitely is! 4. It’s actually better for your ears to have ear wax. Ear wax protects and catches bacteria in your ears. The wax is also just dust and particles and bacteria build up. Gross, but healthy! 5. The brain is much more active at night than during the day. Why? Because, of course, your body is working when it’s shut off. The human body does a lot of healing and growing when you’re sleeping. 6. During your lifetime, you will produce enough saliva to fill two swimming pools. 7. Your nose can remember many different smells. In fact, your nose can smell 50,000+ different scents. Not only that, but your nose has a distinct smell for your house. That’s why there’s no place like home! 8. Men produce 1,500 sperm cells per second. It takes about 74 days to fully regenerate all sperm cells until they are fully mature. 9. The small intestine is about 7 meters long, and the large intestine is about 1.5 meters long. The reason why they call it the large intestine is because it wider in diameter. 10. Sneezes regularly exceed 100 mph & nerve impulses to and from the brain travel as fast as 170 miles an hour. Bless you! 11. Your eyes are always the same size from birth, but your nose and ears never stop growing. 12. Women’s hearts beat faster than men’s hearts do! 13. The brain itself cannot feel pain, the reason you feel pain is because the brain has many different nerves. http://scienceblogs.com/sciencetolife/2008/02/28/100-weird-facts-about-the-huma/ You ever get into the wrong eHarmony date or Farmersonly match? Can’t find a way to break the news to them or just don’t have the guts to? Excuses can be hard to come up with and telling the person you can’t make it can be awkward! Well here might be some easier solutions or excuses you can use or say to that admirer of yours! A simple and easy one is rain check the date. Say you’ve got to go out of town and watch your mom's cats! You might want to actually go to your moms to make it seem real! Another easy go to one is to say you’re sick! tell The person that you just had chipotle any made you sick and now you have diarrhea. Gross, right? Now you have the perfect excuse! A difficult but good excuse would be just be honest with them. It may be hard but at the end of the day, but you won’t have to worry about anything! Honesty always works out in the end. If you can’t be honest with them or just feel like you can’t, just say you have an appointment at the doctors you just can’t miss. I mean, who cares if the date is at 8:00 PM on a Sunday? Health is important! A really good one is just say you can’t go to the date with the person and say it’s family game night. Tell the person you already told your mom you would hang with her and play some games! To make it even more believable, have mom post pics on Facebook! Another difficult one to say, but could be pulled off, is that you sprained your ankle and you can’t get out of the house. And if they offer to come hang out at your house… Well, let’s just hope they don’t! *DISCLAIMER* Tiger Town Times is not responsible for what happens if the “excuses” are used. By: Anthony Alexander
A cold breath, followed by the opening of shaken eyes as they quickly climb up to their surroundings. The room is dark, and slightly cluttered, lit only by the faint blue light of a monitor, just as they had left it. They had fallen asleep on the desk. A sigh of relief, knowing exactly where they are. They reach toward the mouse and keyboard, and begin to go back to their usual activities. They go to their favorite website for chatting with friends and others alike, and begin to scroll through the messages. Everything is normal. Everything is fine. They begin to notice something… unusual. As they continue down, words start disappearing. Each post getting more and more fragmented and broken until they become nearly illegible. Scrolling back up proves no more use as the ability has been restricted. Further on, they push, questioning the oddity of these events. The page is blank. Words are gone, and icons fade away into the pure white background. A distortion. It flickers for only a moment and they aren’t quite sure they actually saw anything. Just then, a message arrives. The sender, unknown. “Hello there.” says this individual. Before the chance to respond is given, another comes. “It appears I’ve caught you.” They take a step away from the table. “Don’t go. It’s only just begun.” They look around frantically, trying to see where they could be peering in from. “You can’t see me. I am there.” The frequency of these messages became more and more unsettling. They close the message quickly. A moment of silence to catch their breath. It opens again, without any input. “Did you think it would be that easy?” They attempt to shut down the monitor, but the power button is beyond their control. They search frantically for the power cord, peeking back to the screen as they do out of fear and hope that nothing would have changed. Finally, they find the cord and just before they pull, one last look at the screen chills their entire being. “You will regret that. :)” Thoughts race in their mind. Should they follow through with their plan, or are they playing right into the hands of this entity? “Do not worry. I will make it all better.” They rip the cord from the socket in the wall, and everything falls to black. Nothing but the sound of their breaths fill the void. They get up, finally relieved of their nightmare. They walk over to the door, in disbelief of what transpired. As they open the door, panic floods their being as the light behind is restored. As they shakily turn around, they see one last message. “Don’t you remember me? I’m your best friend.” They are consumed by a mangled being of pure darkness with melted form and burning mouth and eyes. They wake up from the table. They look up to the monitor to see a message from their best friend from over a year ago. The last message they sent before they got into a fatal car accident. “Hello there.” By: Ryan Dugan

Ominous wind blows through the air You look around but no one is there In your chest, your heart is pounding The sound of footsteps come abounding You run and hide, but have nowhere to go From the beast lurking in your soul Breaths get shorter, try to conceal All of this fear and pain you feel Head is throbbing, it’s going to burst! You wake up. Nightmares are the worst. By: Ryan duganAries: Fireworks

The trachyte (the black rock) is an igneous porphyry rock, which means its volcanic and very old, this piece being around 6 million years old. The traces of zircon is said to be around 3 billion years old, which means there could be a lot more underneath all the trachyte , it’s a lost continent. It’s said to be a remnant of the breaking apart of an old supercontinent called Gondwana. They call the lost continent Mauritia, it once connected Madagascar to India when Gondwana existed. It’s located underneath the Indian ocean island of Mauritius. The zircon could date back to one of the earliest periods of earth. Interesting enough, geologists noticed the gravitational pull was different over the island, suggesting the mass of the continent resting below. The island of Mauritius was formed from newer volcanic activity from mid-ocean ridges , which means the older crust shouldn’t really be there. Geologists and scientists from south Africa are still studying it to find out more.
